How it works
CrewAI defines a 'crew' of agents, each with a role (researcher, writer, reviewer), a goal, and a backstory. Tasks are defined and assigned to agents. The crew runs in sequential or hierarchical process. Native support for MCP and A2A protocols added in 2026.
Example
A content production crew has a Researcher agent (web search, source gathering), a Writer agent (draft generation), and an Editor agent (review against brand guidelines). The crew produces a finished post in under 3 minutes.
